Kristen Litchfield joins Belmont University Athletic Media Relations in 2012-13 as a graduate assistant. She will serve as the primary contact for volleyball, men's and women's track and baseball.

Litchfield spent the past year as a media relations assistant for The Southern Conference. From the Spartanburg, S.C. headquarters, Litchfield was the primary conference media contact for cross country, volleyball, women's basketball, indoor/outdoor track and softball. In addition to providing online multimedia support, Litchfield supported efforts at a number of conference championships and oversaw the 2011 FCS Coaches' Poll.

Prior to the SoCon, Litchfield spent two years as a student assistant in the athletic department of her alma mater, the Univ. of North Carolina-Charlotte. Among her duties, Litchfield conducted feature interviews, provided gameday support for 49er sports, and prepared media guides and notes.

Graduating with honors in english, Litchfield also has an extensive background in print as an editor-in-chief of the Univ. of North Carolina-Charlotte University Times and time as a freelance contributor to the Carolina Weekly.

Litchfield has also served as a press row coordinator and media support staffer at the 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Second and Third round games in Charlotte, N.C. and the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Second and Third round games in Nashville, Tenn.

A native of North Carolina, Litchfield is pursuing a master of sport administration (M.S.A.) degree from Belmont University.
