NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Belmont baseball team (31-21, 14-10 A-Sun) will play its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday. The Bruins host Austin Peay (32-19, 17-6 OVC) at 5:00 p.m. at Rose Park, attempting to sweep the Governors in a two-game season series for the first time since 2000.
Belmont defeated APSU by a score of 6-2 back on April 3, during a nine-game winning streak. The Bruins will send freshman Dan Ludwig (Naperville, Ill.), who picked up the win against Austin Peay last month, out to the mound for the start. The Governors are scheduled to start Kacy Kemmer on Tuesday.
The Govs come to Nashville with a 32-19 record, and are leading the Ohio Valley Conference with a mark of 17-6. APSU recently swept Morehead State this past weekend. Reed Harper is leading the Govs with an average of .340 and 14 doubles. Jordan Hankins has recorded a team high 54 runs batted in.
Due to technical issues, Tuesday's contest will not feature live audio on the Bruin Sports Network. However, there will still be live video on ASun.TV. Live Stats can be found on BelmontBruins.com, and fans can also follow the action on the Belmont Baseball Twitter Feed.
