Crider Signs with the Bruins

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Baseball coach Dave Jarvis and the Baseball Staff are pleased to announce the addition of Tommy Crider for the 2018-2019 season.

Crider will be behind the plate for the Bruins as a catcher.  He currently plays at James Clemens High School under the direction of Cory Hamrick. At James Clemens, Crider earned 2016 7A Second Team All-State and All-State Honorable Mention.  During his sophomore campaign, Crider posted a .400 batting average and was named the All-Huntsville Region Catcher.

Crider is a top 500 prospect and the second best catcher in the state of Alabama according to Perfect Game.

"Every time I saw Tommy play he really impressed me.  He has the makings to be a middle of the order batter as well as being a great catcher in our program," said assistant coach Aaron Smith.  He also possesses the energy that you look for in a catcher."

Crider plays summer baseball at Viper Baseball Academy under the direction of Rickie Diehl.
