Ian Clark Named Mid-Major Defensive All-American

BOSTON, Mass. - - Belmont University men's basketball junior Ian Clark (Memphis, Tenn.) has been named to the 2012 Mid-Major Defensive All-America Team, CollegeInsider.com announced Tuesday.

Clark, who was named 2012 Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Year, helped lead Belmont to its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance, and fifth in the last seven years.

This is the latest in a string of honors for Clark from CollegeInsider.com. The college basketball website has named the 6-3 shooting guard Atlantic Sun Most Valuable Player two straight years, a 2011 Honorable Mention Mid-Major All-American, and 2010 Mid-Major Freshman All-American.

The Memphis, Tenn. native will enter the 2012-13 season with 1,319 career points and 238 career made three-point field goals.

Among the notables joining Clark on the 2012 Mid-Major Defensive All-America Team are Ronald Nored of Butler, Kyle O'Quinn of Norfolk State and Casper Ware of Long Beach State.
