Men's Basketball Hosts Tennessee Tech Saturday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to action Saturday against Tennessee Tech.
The Bruins defeated Morehead State, 93-74, Thursday. Senior Kerron Johnson (Huntsville, Ala.) led four Bruins in double figures with a career-high tying 25 points and seven steals.
Belmont and Tennessee Tech were well represented on the Preseason All-OVC team, with Ian Clark (Memphis, Tenn.) and Johnson for the Bruins and Jud Dillard for the Golden Eagles.
Belmont head coach Rick Byrd spent three years as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech from (1980-83).
This marks the 11th meeting between Belmont and Tennessee Tech. The Bruins won 83-52 Jan. 5 in Cookeville; Clark led Belmont with 21 points while Johnson handed out 10 assists with zero turnovers.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT from the Curb Event Center.
