Belmont-Houston Baptist Game Preview

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to action this weekend hosting the 2K Classic Benefiting Wounded Warrior Project Nashville Subregional. The Bruins welcome Houston Baptist, Seattle and Detroit Mercy to the Curb Event Center.

The Bruins defeated MTSU, 69-63, Thursday. Senior Amanze Egekeze (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) had 24 points to lead Belmont. Junior Kevin McClain (Jennings, Fla.) had a career-high 14 points.

Junior Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.) is off to a fine start this season, recording double-doubles in each of the team's first three games.

Belmont head coach Rick Byrd and Houston Baptist head coach Ron Cottrell are two of the six longest-tenured active head coaches in NCAA Division I; Byrd is in his 32nd season at Belmont, while Cottrell is in his 27th at Houston Baptist.
