Men's Golf Releases 2012 Fall Schedule

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trips to Kentucky and North Carolina highlight the 2012 Belmont Men's Golf fall schedule released on Friday.

The Bruins have four tournaments during the month of October.  They start the season on October 1-2 at the Murray State Invitational in Murray, Kentucky.  Last year, BU finished third in this tournament, their best finish of the season.  The next week, October 8-9, the squad returns to the Bluegrass State for UC Bearcat Invitational in Hebron, Kentucky.  Last year, the Bruins placed 10th in this event, among a very competitive field.

A week later, October 15-16, Belmont competes for the first time in the Kenny Perry Invitational hosted by Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Then, the Bruins wrap up their October schedule by competing for the fifth straight year at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on October 22-23.  Last season, BU placed sixth in this event.

After a week off to recover from their busy October, the squad wraps up their fall season on November 3-4 at the Western Carolina/Hummingbird Intercollegiate in Cashiers, North Carolina.  It will be the first time the Bruins have played in this event since 2007.

"I am excited about our fall schedule," said Scott Flynn, Belmont head coach.  "I like that we are playing in some familiar places and in some new events.  I think it will be good challenge for our returners and our newcomers."

The 2013 spring schedule has not been finalized.  It will be announced later this year.
