SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in seventh place at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held this week at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.
On a beautiful spring day, the Bruins shot a team score of 296 to finish in seventh place with a mark of 888. Carson Newman captured the team championship with a score of 847. Lincoln Memorial placed second at 872, while Evansville was third at 877.
Two Belmont golfers finished among the top-20. Freshman McCullough Pickens carded a one-under par 71 to finish in a tie for ninth place with a score of 216. He finished 11 shots behind medalist, Jake Headrick of Carson Newman (205). It was Pickens' third top-10 finish of the season and second in the spring. Redshirt freshman Win Temple placed 20th at 222 after shooting a 75 in the final round.
Sophomore Parker Buck competed as an individual and tied for 17th place at 221.
The men's golf team will be back in action on March 31-April 2 at the Mason Rudolph Championship, held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee.
