NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team begins two consecutive weeks of competition in Middle Tennessee as they play in the Mason Rudolph Championship this Friday-Sunday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin.
The Bruins enter this week's tournament after finishing seventh at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate last week. Freshman McCullough Pickens led the team as he tied for ninth place at 216. After posting a four-over 76 in round one, Pickens carded consecutive sub-par rounds of 69 and 71 to post his third top-10 finish of the season.
The Mason Rudolph Championship will be three-day, 54-hole event, with 18 holes played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It will be contested on the par-71, 7,100 yard South Course at Vanderbilt Legends Club. The field is made up of 14 teams, featuring four top-25 teams: Vanderbilt, Florida, Duke, and Missouri.
This is the eighth time the Bruins have competed in this event and first since the 2011-12 season.
First round play begins Friday morning with tee times beginning at 8:30am. Belmont's golfers will tee off from the 10th hole from 9:35-10:15am
