BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Freshman men's golfer Nate Thomson has been named to the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) All-Newcomer team as selected by the league's head coaches and announced on Monday night.

Entering this week's OVC Championship, the Greendale, Wisconsin native has played in 10 events and leads the Bruins in scoring with a 74.8 average.  He has posted one top-10 and three top-20 finishes, with a season-best fifth place showing at last fall's Trevecca Invitational.

In addition, Nate has been the low scorer for Belmont in four events and his score of 68 in the third round of the Ryman Intercollegiate earlier this month is tied for the low round of the season.

Thomson becomes the fourth men's golfer to earn OVC All-Newcomer honors, joining Daniel Booker (2015-16), Sean Buchanan (2012-13), and Ashton Van Horne (2012-13).
