Ninth Place Start at Pinetree

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team stands in ninth place after round one of the Pinetree Intercollegiate held Monday at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Georgia. 

Playing on rain soaked course, Belmont posted a first round team score of 301 to finish the day in ninth place.  Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky are tied for the team lead at 287.  Mercer is in third place at 288. 

Two Bruins are among the top-20 after 18 holes.  Junior Daniel Booker and freshman Evan Davis are tied for 20th place after each carded a two over par 74.  They are eight shots behind the individual leader, Peyton Wilhoit of Southern Illinois (66). 

Other Belmont scores from round one included: sophomore Nate Thomson (T-26, 75), senior Logan Matthews (T-45, 78), and freshman Jack Uselton (61st, 86).
