Final Round Struggles in Georgia

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team struggled in Tuesday's final round and finished in 11th place at the Pinetree Intercollegiate held at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Belmont carded a final round team score of 319 to finish in 11th place with a 36-hole mark of 620.  Southern Illinois won the team title at 583, while Wisconsin placed second at 584.

Two Bruins finished among the top-30 at the tournament.  Sophomore Nate Thomson led BU as he tied for 26th place at 152.  One shot back of Thomson was junior Daniel Booker who tied for 30th place with a two round score of 153. 

Other Belmont scores from the event: senior Logan Matthews (T-50, 159), freshman Evan Davis (T-57, 162), and freshman Jack Uselton (61st, 168).

The individual medalist for the event was Southern Illinois' Peyton Wilhoit, who carded a 137 over two days. 

The men's golf team wraps up the fall season next Monday, October 30 at the MTSU Old Fort Intercollegiate, a one day, 36-hole event, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
