MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – In their final event of the fall season, the Belmont men's golf team finished in eighth place at the MTSU Old Fort Intercollegiate held Monday at Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
On a sunny Monday that started frosty in the 30s and later warmed to the high 60s, Belmont posted rounds of 303 and 307 to finish the day in eighth place with a 36-hole mark of 610. Host MTSU won the team title with a score of 586, while Tennessee Tech placed second at 591.
Two Bruins finished the event among the top-20. Senior Logan Matthews and junior Daniel Booker each tied for 14th place with a two round score of 149. Booker carded rounds of 74 and 75, while Logan posted a 73 and 76. They finished nine shots behind individual medalists Chip Thomas of MTSU and Cooper Collins of Morehead State.
Freshman Jack Uselton, competing as an individual, tied for 28th place at 152 (79-73).
This tournament concludes the fall season for the men's golf team. They will kick off their spring campaign on February 17-18 at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Georgia.
