NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf program announces Jack Bergstrom and Coleman Jones have signed National Letters of Intent and will compete for the Bruins beginning in the fall of 2018.
Bergstrom is a native of Lexington, KY and prepped at Sayre High School. While at Sayre, he won three individual titles and placed in the top-20 at the All "A" State Tournament in 2017. In juniors, he earned two runner-up finishes on the Golfweek Junior Tour and qualified for the Kentucky State Open last July.
Coleman Jones is a Midstate product as he is from Franklin, Tennessee and played his high school golf at Brentwood Academy. He won the Tennessee State Junior Championship last summer and was recently named the 2017 Tennessee Sneds Tour Player of the Year. While at BA, he helped the team qualify for the State Tournament twice and earned top-11 finishes the last two seasons.
"We are pleased that Jack and Coleman have chosen to play college golf at Belmont," said Scott Flynn, Belmont's head coach. "They are two outstanding young men who will be great additions to our program and enhance the future of Belmont Golf."
In five events this fall, the men's golf team earned four top-10 finishes. They will begin their spring season on February 17-18, 2018 at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Georgia.
