J.P. Rodrigues Signs With FC Tampa Bay
TAMPA, Fla. – J.P. Rodrigues, a former two-time NSCAA/adidas All-South Region Team honoree (2004, 2005) and the 2005 Atlantic Sun Conference Defender of the Year for the Belmont Men's Soccer Teams, has signed with FC Tampa Bay of the USSF Division 2.
Rodrigues is a native of Tampa, Florida and returns home after playing for Miami FC from 2006-10. With Miami, he logged 5,500 minutes in 76 matches, ranking third on the team in minutes and tied for second in games played during the 2010 season.
"I'm extremely excited about this new opportunity," Rodrigues said in FC Tampa Bay's press release. "Tampa is my home and playing professionally here has been a life-long dream of mine. I can't wait for the season to begin and to help the organization battle for a championship."
Rodrigues has also been a member of the Guyana National Team from 2006-10, earning 15 caps. He played in qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and helped the squad qualify for the final round of the 2010 Digicel Caribbean Cup.
