Brandon Tarr Named A-Sun Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. – Junior Brandon Tarr (Knoxville, Tenn.) was named Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week for his performance over the weekend.  In leading the Bruins to a 2-0 week and a Hyatt Place Invitational Championship, Tarr scored three goals and assisted on another to earn the honors.

Tarr scored one goal and added an assist to lead BU past then 4-1-0 Bowling Green on Friday.  The feisty forward then scored two more goals in Sunday's 4-0 victory over IPFW.  Tarr now leads the league with 11 points and is tied for A-Sun lead with five goals on the season.

In less than two and a half seasons at Belmont, Tarr has been outscored by only one Bruin in program history.  The Knoxville, Tenn. native now has 20 career goals and 49 career points, putting him second in Belmont annals for both categories.  Fernando Castellanos is the all-time leader in both with 22 goals and 54 total points.

Tarr, who earned the conference weekly accolades for the second time in his career, will help lead BU against SIU Edwardsville and Evansville this weekend before the Bruins begin conference play a week from Thursday.
