Men's Tennis Beats Western Kentucky 4-3
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team picked up their first win of the season as they defeated Western Kentucky 4-3 in a match played Friday afternoon at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
The Bruins came out strong and swept all three doubles matches to win the first point of the match. In singles, BU picked up wins at three positions to clinch the 4-3 victory over the Hilltoppers. Belmont's winners included: at #1 Rodrigo Amaral beat Arul Selvan 4-6, 6-0, 6-1, at #2 Rafael Matos defeated Currie Martin 6-1, 6-2, and then at #4 Bruno Silva beat Lance Freeman 6-2, 6-3.
Belmont (1-13) has their final match of the season tomorrow morning as they play at rival Lipscomb at 10:00am.
