Men's Tennis Assistant Coach Brian Baker Wins the PNC Futures Tournament

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Belmont men's assistant tennis coach Brian Baker captured the PNC Futures tournament title Sunday afternoon at Mt. Lebanon Tennis Center outside of Pittsburgh.  The tournament is a part of the USTA Pro Circuit Summer Tour.

Baker defeated Bjorn Frantangelo, the 2011 French Open junior boys champion, 7-5, 6-3 in Sunday's final.  He finished the tournament by not losing a single set. 

With 90-plus tournaments hosted annually throughout the country and prize money ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, the USTA Pro Circuit is the pathway to the US Open and tour-level competition for aspiring tennis players and a frequent battleground for established professionals.
