UPDATE: Baker at U.S. Open -- His First Round Singles Match Set for Wednesday Morning
FLUSHING MEADOWS, N. Y. – Former Belmont men's tennis assistant coach Brian Baker will play Jan Hajek of the Czech Republic in the first round of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships as the draws were announced on Thursday.
Baker, the Nashville native who is ranked 70th in the world, will face Hajek, ranked 94th, in a first round match on Wednesday If he wins, Baker will face either Janko Tipsanevic of Serbia or Guillaume Rufin of France in the second round.
This is Baker's fourth appearance in the U.S. Open. His best performance was in the 2005 championship, when he reached the second round.

UPDATE: Baker will play Jan Hajek in his first round singles match on Wednesday. His match will be the second one on Court 11. Play on that court begins at 10:00am CT.
