Men’s Track Shines on Day One of Coastal Carolina Invitational
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's track and field team opened the 2012 outdoor season on the road at the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Friday. The Bruins recorded four top-15 finishes on the first day of the meet.
Junior Matt Miller (La Porte, Ind.) won the 5000m with a time of 14:49.93. He was followed by classmates Josh Helton (Franklin, Tenn.) in fourth place (15:09.53) and Brandon Mahaney (Lafayette, Tenn.) in seventh place (15:14.83). Junior Kyle Sullinger (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) rounded out the Bruin presence in the event, finishing 14th (15:51.17).
