NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University men's track and field team will compete in the OVC Outdoor Championship this weekend in Oxford, Alabama.
The meet, hosted by Jacksonville State University, will be held at the newly constructed Choccolocco Park.
Thursday, the meet will begin at 1 p.m. 100 with the Decathlon 100 Meter Dash. Friday, action will kick off at 8 a.m. with the multi-events with action continuing Saturday at 11 a.m. with field events.
The Bruins have boasted constant improvement throughout the season setting multiple school and personal records.
Junior Nathan Nammour (Tampa, Fla.) enters the weekend with the OVC's leading time in the 400 meter dash with a time of 47.26. Caleb Corprew (Midwest City, Okla.) has had an impressive junior campaign and enters the meet with the leading conference time in both the 400 and 110 meter hurdles. Distance runner sophomore Ben Weisel (Nashville, Tenn.) enters the championship with momentum with a third best conference time of 3:48.47 in the 1500 meter run.
Belmont also excelled on the field this season. Del McSpadden (Brentwood, Tenn.) will look to cap off his senior season on a high note. His mark of 58.66 meters is the second best hammer throw mark in the conference this season. Junior Stuart Landis (Victor, Mont.) will look to find success this weekend in the javelin. His mark of 55.99 meters is the second best conference mark.
