DeLAND, Fla. - Junior Jordan Anderson garnered first-team All-Conference recognition after finishing seventh at the 2009 Atlantic Sun Championships with an 8K time of 26:07 on Saturday morning.

Anderson has stepped up as the team's top runner the last three races during his first cross country season with the Bruins after transferring from Illinois State in 2008.

Senior Ben McGlothlin (26:57) and junior Kip Hill (27:01) finished within four seconds of each other at 17th and 19th, respectively, while Will Peters (27:28) and Clay Hannah (27:30) finished 29th and 30th.

In a competitive field, Kennesaw State won their first A-Sun team title with a total of 40 points -- the highest team score by a champion since Samford and Georgia State tied for the conference crown in 1999 with a score of 55. East Tennessee State's Ken Rotich won the individual title with a time of 25:31 to guide the Bucs to a second-place finish.

The Bruins finished fifth with a total of 102 team points -- only four points separated from third-place. USC Upstate and North Florida tied for third with 98 points. Belmont ranked first in the final weekly Atlantic Sun Cross Country Poll on the season.

Since joining the conference in 2001, it is Belmont's lowest finish in the Atlantic Sun Championships and the first time without winning a team title over a two-year span.
