Jonathan Davis enters his fifth year on the sidelines for the Belmont women's basketball program and his third under Head Coach Brittney Ezell in 2012. He serves as an assistant coach responsible for a wide-ranging array of duties. In addition to his roles in player development and recruiting, Davis will coordinate team travel and oversee the team's budget. He serves as the program’s summer camp director.
“Coach Davis is an extremely steady and calming influence on the staff. He is passionate about Belmont basketball but is able to temper his passion with a remarkable amount of patience in all that he does. Jonathan deeply cares for our program and the entire athletic department as a whole,” Ezell said.
“He has plenty of game savvy and yet, he understands the game from a very technical standpoint. Jonathan is ridiculously meticulous and overly organized. His ability to analyze tendencies and statistics has proven invaluable to our scheduling, game preparation and scouting. I have counted on him since day one at Belmont and I will continue to rely on him for many years to come.”
Davis joined the women's basketball program following an extended stint with Belmont's men's basketball program as an undergraduate, postgraduate, and volunteer assistant. He served six seasons in a variety of operations-related capacities for the Bruins - including three consecutive seasons in which the team won the Atlantic Sun conference tournament and earned a berth in the NCAA tournament. During his time with the men's program, the Bruins produced four 20-win seasons and an overall record of 120-67.
The Nashville native graduated from Belmont in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and in 2007 earned a master's degree in business administration from Belmont's Massey Graduate School of Business.
Davis is the son, brother, or brother-in-law of five Belmont graduates, and resides in Nashville.
