Women's Golf Moves Up to Seventh Place after Two Rounds of the A-Sun Championship
DeLAND, Fla. – The Belmont women's golf team moved up into a tie for seventh place after two rounds of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship held this week at Victoria Hills Country Club in DeLand, Florida.
In Tuesday's second round, Belmont posted a team score of 315 for the second straight day to move up into a tie for seventh place with Jacksonville at 630. Campbell is the tournament leader at 600.
Two Bruins are among the top-30. Senior Laura Dyson had posted another solid score. The Fairview, Texas native shot a five-over par 77 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 24th place with a 36-hole score of 156. Junior Kelly Maguigan carded a 78 in the second round to finish the day in a tie for 28th at 158. Other Belmont scores from the day include: Jennifer Newman (T-31st, 80-80=160), Megan Murphy (T-36th, 82-80=162), and Janet Steen (77-89=165). The individual leader is Alex Buelow of Stetson at 145.
The third and final round of the championship will begin Wednesday morning at 7:00am CT.
