Women's Golf Stands in Fourth after the First Round of the Rhoads Invitational
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Belmont women's golf team stands in fourth place after round one of the Ann Rhoads Invitational held Sunday at Oxmoor Valley Golf Club in Birmingham, Alabama.
On a cold, windy day in central Alabama, the Bruins shot a team score of 352. They are 20 shots behind tournament leader Indianapolis, who is ranked #17 in Division II. Tennessee Tech is in second, while Methodist College is in third place.
Belmont is led by junior Janet Steen, who is tied for second place after posting an 82 on Sunday. Senior Kelly Maguigan and junior Patricia Masick is tied for 31 after each carded an 89 in round one. Freshman Sydney Hudson is tied for 46th place with a 92, while junior Megan Murphy is tied for 49th at 93. Three Bruins are competing as individuals. Sophomore Morgan McQuary is tied for 21st place with an 87, while Evin Edens is tied for 36th and Jennifer Newman is tied for 49th place.
The second and final round will begin Monday morning at 8:30am.
