Third Place Start

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held Sunday at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Belmont shot a team score of 317 on Sunday to finish the day in third place.  Lee has the team lead at 304, while Tennessee Tech is second at 309.

Two Bruins are among the top-15 after 18 holes.  Freshman Julia Nittoli is tied for fifth place after posting a four-over 76 in round one.  She is four shots behind individual leaders, Annika Gino of Lee and Ariana Clemmer of Tennessee Tech.  Junior Mallory Sullivan is tied for 11th place after carding a 79.

Other Belmont scores from day one included: senior Abbie Gregory (T-18, 81), senior Megan Heath (T-18, 81), and sophomore Emma Kate Liu (T-29, 84).

Three BU players are competing as individuals: freshman Carlee Nanney (T-18, 81), redshirt junior Maddie Williams (T-34, 86), and senior Alexi Bevans (T-42, 94).

The second round will begin Tuesday morning with a 10:30am ET shotgun start.
