PADUCAH, Ky. -- The Belmont women's tennis team fell to Jacksonville State 4-1 in the semifinals of the OVC Tournament held Saturday morning in Paducah, Kentucky.
Belmont picked up the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. After losing at number one, Catherine Holliday and Natalia Nunes won at number two over Olivia Nguyen and Aleksandra Cimlijic 8-0. BU clinched the doubles point as Fabiana Mersan and Carolyn Caire defeated Zoe Bizinos and Daniell Kerindi 8-6.
In singles, JSU stormed back and picked up wins at the fist four positions to clinch the 4-1 victory and advance to the championship match on Sunday.
Belmont ends the season with a record of 10-10, 5-5 in the OVC.
