Women's Track and Field Wrap Weekend at Tiger Track Classic
AUBURN, Ala. -- The Belmont women's track and field team wrapped its split action weekend at the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn on Saturday. The Bruins tallied seven top-40 finishes.
Junior Courtney Bishop (Nashville, Tenn.) notched the highest place finish for BU, taking seventh in the 3000m Steeplechase after crossing the line in a new PR of 11:29.35. Junior Fallon Dickens (Nashville, Tenn.) finished 22nd in the 800m, setting a new PR with a time of 2:16.52.
In the 400m, freshman Anna Carrigan (Alexandria, Ky.) finished 35th (1:00.11) while classmate Tanisha Williams (Madison, Tenn.) took 37th (1:00.34). Redshirt sophomore Megan Bradley (Nampa, Id.) took 40th in the 400m Hurdles (1:09.78).
In the field events, sophomore Jilian Linklater (Lake Orion, Mich.) took second in the high jump after being edged in a jump-off. She In the pole vault, freshman Bobbi LeAnn Walters (O'Neill, Neb.) finished 15th with a mark of 3.10m.
The Belmont women's track and field team returns to action on Saturday, April 14 at the Boston-Moon Classic hosted by Tennessee State University.
