Women's Track and Field Finishes in Seventh at Atlantic Sun Championships
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Belmont women's track and field team finished seventh overall at the 2012 Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships. The Bruins racked up 11 top-15finishes on the second day of competition.
In the 400m, freshmen Anna Carrigan (Alexandria, Ky.) and Tanisha Williams (Madison, Tenn.) finished 11th (59.52) and 14th (1:01.05), respectively. Senior Caitlin Standifer (Plano, Texas) took 12th in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4:45.74. Redshirt sophomore Jessica Duble (Lookout Mountain, Ga.) finished 13th in the event with a time of 4:52.33.
Senior Nicole Muldowney (Hoover, Ala.) notched a top-five finish in the 5000m with a time of 17:49.71. Standifer, junior Courtney Bishop (Nashville, Tenn.) and freshman Mia Elbon (Nashville, Tenn.) finished eighth (18:04.27), 10th (18:11.78) and 15th (19:21.67), respectively.
Sophomore Jilian Linklater (Lake Orion, Mich.) finished tied for eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.57m.
Redshirt sophomore Megan Bradley (Nampa, Id.) took 13th in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:08.90.
BU's 4x400m team of Carrigan, Linklater, sophomore Brittany Woods (Franklin, Tenn.) and Bradley finished sixth with a time of 4:11.86.
