Cross Country To Compete At NCAA Regional Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the NCAA South Regional Championships this Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  The men's 10 kilometer race starts things off at 10:00 a.m., while the women's six kilometer race will begin at approximately 11:15 a.m.

Last year the Belmont men placed eighth out of 18 scoring teams, as Erick Kigen (Eldoret, Kenya) led the squad with a 34th overall finish.  The Bruins have finished in the top 12 at the Regional Meet each of the last 11 seasons.

The BU women took 16th out of 25 teams at the NCAA South Regional a year ago, with Kimberly and Nicole Muldowney (Hoover, Ala.) leading the team, placing 54th and 55th, respectively.  Since 1999 the Belmont women's cross country team has earned 12 All-South Region individual honors.
