NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore field athlete Jessica Mattsson (Tierp, Sweden) and sophomore men's golfer Evan Davis (Lexington, Ky.) have been named Trane Belmont Student-Athletes of the Month for April.
Mattsson had two top-10 finishes in the hammer throw in the last month at Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky. At the WKU meet, she set a school record of 57.16 meters, which beat the old mark by two meters and is the longest in the OVC this spring. In addition, she was named OVC Field Athlete of the Week.
Davis has had four top-10 finishes this spring, including a second place showing in Savannah. He ranks second on the team in scoring average at 73.2, which also ranks him among the top-20 in the OVC.
