NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University student-athletes had another successful semester in the classroom as 2019 spring semester grades were finalized last week.
For the 2019 spring semester, the departmental grade point average (GPA) was 3.379, which marks the 43rd consecutive semester that Belmont student-athletes have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
"The success that our student-athletes have in the classroom is truly remarkable," said Scott Corley, Belmont's Director of Athletics. "This achievement is a tribute to our student-athletes, coaches, and academic support staff who strive to maintain our department's commitment to academic excellence."
Highlights from the fall semester included:
- 21 student-athletes earned a GPA of 4.00.
- 58.62% earned Dean's List honors (3.5 of higher).
- 74.57% earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- All teams had a GPA of 3.0 or higher
The top-five team GPAs from the spring semester were as follows:
Men's Tennis – 3.572
Volleyball – 3.571
Men's Cross Country – 3.557
Softball – 3.554
Women's Soccer – 3.546
