NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Senior women's cross country athlete Kortney Schardt (Lindenhurst, Ill.) and junior men's cross country athlete Ben Naeger (Ste. Genevieve, Mo.) have been named Student-Athletes of the Month for September.
Schardt has had a solid start to her 2019 season. In her first race of the season, she won the Belmont Opener individual title and helped her team to a second place finish. For her efforts, she was named OVC Runner of the Week. She followed that race with a 35th place finish at the highly competitive Commodore Classic.
Naeger has had an impressive start in his first season as a Bruin. In his first race at the Belmont Opener, he won the individual title and helped his squad to the team title. For his efforts, he was named OVC Runner of the Week. At the Commodore Classic, he placed 26th in a competitive field that featured several regionally ranked teams.
