NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team opens up its fall season this Monday and Tuesday at The Velvet Classic in Paducah, Kentucky.
What's Bruin
- The Bruins will be a mix of veterans and newcomers. They return seven players and have two newcomers.
- Leading the way for the Bruins is graduate student Chloe Tarkany. The Arizona native led the team in scoring at 75.9 and had four top-10 finishes.
- Sophomore Sloane Biddle earned All-MVC honors after posting a 76.0 average, earning one individual title, and three other top-10 finishes.
- Two new Bruins join the program this season and both are from Tennessee: Lauren Davis from Knoxville and Jackie Henderson from Nashville.
This week's The Velvet is a two-day, 54-hole event with 36 holes contested on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The tournament honors former Murray State head coach, Velvet Milkman, and will be held at The Country Club of Paducah. The course will play to a par of 71 and length of 6076 yards.
The field features 14 teams and includes the likes of host Austin Peay, Loyola (IL), UAB, Troy, and two other MVC schools: host Murray State and Southern Illinois.
