NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball received three television selections as the Ohio Valley Conference announced Thursday its slate of conference games across the ESPN family of linear networks for the 2019-20 basketball season.

Belmont will be featured three consecutive Thursdays to close the month of January, including a Jan. 23 date at Murray State that will air on ESPN2:

  • Jan. 16 - Eastern Kentucky at Belmont 8 p.m. CT ESPNU
  • Jan. 23 - Belmont at Murray State 6 p.m. CT ESPN2
  • Jan. 30 - Belmont at Tennessee Tech 8 p.m. CT ESPNU

The Bruins and Colonels have met 16 times in OVC play, with Belmont holding a 12-4 series lead. Belmont scored a Curb Event Center record 109 points in last year's meeting in Nashville. The Bruins are 55-3 all-time in OVC home games.

The Belmont-Murray State rivalry has blossomed into one of the great series in all of college basketball, providing compelling theatre in the regular season and conference tournament. Belmont has won seven of the 11 OVC meetings, including 79-66 at Murray State last season. Both programs won NCAA Tournament games and produced NBA first round draft choices in 2019.

Belmont and Tennessee Tech each welcome new head coaches (Casey Alexander, John Pelphrey). The Bruins have won 11 of the 14 OVC meetings.

The OVC Tournament men's championship game will air on ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 7. The tournament will be held at The Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.

Belmont men's basketball has enjoyed 104 televised games over the past seven seasons.

Belmont University men's basketball has earned postseason invitations 13 of the last 14 seasons, including eight berths to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have won 17 conference championships since 2006 - third-most nationally over that span (Gonzaga, Kansas). Belmont is one of only six NCAA Division I programs outside the Power 5 to post Top 100 RPIs nine consecutive seasons (BYU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's (CA), San Diego State, Wichita State).
