NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball sophomore Nick Muszynski (Pickerington, Ohio) has been named OVC Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Muszynski averaged 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocked shots and 1.5 assists per game on 65 percent shooting as Belmont won at Middle Tennessee and fell in the final seconds at Big Sky Conference favorite Eastern Washington.
The 6-11 center scored a career-high 30 points on 13-for-18 shooting at EWU, adding seven rebounds and four blocked shots. Muszynski had a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds at Middle Tennessee, including 13 points in the second half. He leads the OVC in blocked shots per game (2.13) and ranks sixth in scoring (16.4). Muszynski, a 2019 Freshman All-America selection from Basketball Times, was named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List.
Muszynski shared the honor with Terry Taylor of Austin Peay.

Belmont University men's basketball has earned postseason invitations 13 of the last 14 seasons, including eight berths to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have won 17 conference championships since 2006 - third-most nationally over that span (Gonzaga, Kansas).
