NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off a win earlier this week, the Belmont men's golf team heads to Georgia for their final fall event, the Pinetree Intercollegiate, held Monday and Tuesday at Pinetree Country Club outside Atlanta.
The Bruins enter their final event with some momentum after winning the APSU Intercollegiate earlier this week in Dickson, Tennessee. To get the win, BU shot an 11 under par 277 in final round, the lowest score in nearly three years. Senior Noah Trenkler finished in second place, his best collegiate finish, while sophomore Evan Davis tied for seventh, his third top-10 showing in his last six events.
Senior Daniel Booker leads the team with a 71.7 average, while Trenkler is right behind at 72.0. Both rank among the top-20 in the OVC.
This week's Pinetree Intercollegiate is a two-day, 54-hole event, with 36 holes contested on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. It will be held at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Georgia, which will play to a par 72 and a length of 7,108 yards. The filed features 11 teams including the likes of host FGCU, host Kennesaw State, Mercer, Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, and two other OVC squads: Austin Peay and Jacksonville State.
