CASHIERS, N.C. – The Belmont men's golf team stands 12th at the rain-delayed J.T. Poston Invitational held at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley near Cashiers, North Carolina.

After completing the first round early Monday afternoon, persistent rain showers and storms delayed the completion of round two.  The second round will restart Tuesday morning at 7:30am CT with plans of rolling into the final round with continuous play in the afternoon.

After 18 holes, the Bruins stand in 12th place after posting a 289.  Georgia Southern has the team lead at 265, with VCU second at 273.

Belmont is led by junior Evan Davis.  Davis carded a 71 in round one to put himself in a tie for 35th place.  Fellow junior Bogle LaRue is tied for 46th place at 72.  Freshmen Luke Whitney and Alex Whitehead are tied for 54th at 73, while junior Jack Uselton is tied for 75th place at 76. 

Georgia Southern's Jake Maples has the individual lead at 65.
