LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Belmont women's golf team shot their low round of the tournament in the final round and finished in a tie for third place at this week's MSU/Greenbrier Invitational held at Greenbrier Golf and Country Club in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Bruins posted a team score of 304 on Tuesday to move up one spot and tie UNC-Asheville for third place at 940. Cincinnati won the team title with a mark of 907, while Austin Peay was second at 936.
Two Bruins finished among the top-20. Senior Emma Kate Liu carded a final round 73 to finish in a tie for 10th place at 230. It was her first top-10 finish since the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate last March and her fourth in the last two seasons.
Freshman Cameron Fish posted her first collegiate top-20 finish as she tied for 17th place at 236. She shot a four-over 76 on Tuesday.
Freshman Courtney Bryant competed as an individual and tied for 25th place at 244.
Kentucky's Rikke Svelgaard was the individual medalist at 215.
The women's golf team has a couple of weeks off before returning to action on October 1-2 at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate in Clarksville, Tennessee.
