Third Place Start

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team stands in third place after round one of the Town and Country Invitational held this week at Nashville's McCabe Golf Course.

On a beautiful sunny Monday in the Music City, the Bruins posted a first round team score of 293 to stand in third place.  They are five shots behind first place Austin Peay (288) and one shot back of second place Tennessee Tech.

Belmont has two golfers among the top-10 after 18 holes.  Junior Julia Nittoli, competing as an individual, is the individual leader after shooting a two-under par 68.  She is one shot ahead of second place Reagan Greene.  Senior Emma Kate Liu is tied for third place after posting an even par 70. 

Other Belmont scores from day one included: junior Carlee Nanney – 74, freshman Cameron Fish – 74, sophomore Maribeth Peevy – 75, freshman Katelyn Dunstan – 82. 

Freshman Courtney Bryant is competing as an individual and shot a 74 on Monday.

The second and final round begins Tuesday morning at 9:30am.  Belmont's individual golfers will tee off at that time, while the rest will begin their round at 11:30am.
