Eighth Place Start in Sevierville

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team stand in eighth place after round one of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held Sunday at the Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.

The Bruins posted a team score of 313 in Sunday's first round to finish the day in eighth place.  Samford and Eastern Kentucky are tied for the team lead at 289.

Two Belmont golfers are among the top-30.  Sophomore Maribeth Peevy is tied for 16th place after shooting a 75 in round one.  Freshman Katelyn Dunstan is tied for 28th place after carding a 78 on Sunday. 

Other Belmont scores from the first round include: freshman Cameron Fish (T-33, 79), junior Julia Nittoli (T-44, 81), and junior Carlee Nanney (60th, 84). 

Marshall's Shelby Brauckmuller and Samford's Sophie Membrino are tied for the individual lead at 70.

The second round will begin Monday morning with a 9:00am CT shotgun start.
