NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two Midstate tournaments along with trips to Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, and Alabama highlight the 2019-20 Belmont Women's Golf Schedule announced on Wednesday.
The schedule features nine events, with five in the fall and four in the spring.
The season kicks off for the fourth consecutive year with a dual match with the Sewanee Tigers on Sunday, September 1 in Sewanee.
Two weeks later, the squad heads to Kentucky for the Morehead State/Greenbrier Invitational on September 16-17 in Lexington. Last season, BU finished third in this event. After another two week break, Belmont returns to competition at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate on September 30-October 1 at Clarksville Country Club.
The Bruins wrap up the fall season with two more events in October. On October 14-15, they play at the ASU Lady Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The season ends at the Town and Country Invitational at Nashville's McCabe Golf Course on October 28-29.
The 2019 spring campaign begins in mid-March at a new tournament, the UTSA Maryb S. Kauth Invitational in San Antonio, Texas on March 10-11. The tournament will be a homecoming for senior Julia Nittoli, who is a San Antonio native will be get to play on her home course, San Antonio Country Club.
Two weeks later, the team will head back to the Bluegrass State for the EKU Colonel Classic on March 30-31 in Richmond, Kentucky. Ten days later, BU will head back to Kentucky for the Jan Weaver Invitational hosted by Murray State on April 10-11.
The season wraps up at the OVC Championship, held April 19-21 at RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove outside Huntsville, Alabama. The tournament returns to Hampton Cove after spending the last two years at The Shoals.
Should the Bruins win a conference title, NCAA Regionals will be held May 11-13 and the NCAA Championship is slated for May 18-23 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
"I am very pleased about the upcoming schedule," said Lissa Bradford, Belmont's head coach. "It is a good mix of new and familiar venues. I am especially excited about the opportunity to spend spring break in Texas and participate in the UT San Antonio event. That event should give us a great start to preparing for the OVC Championship at an old favorite, RTJ at Hampton Cove."
