Seventh Place Start in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Belmont women's golf team is tied for seventh place after day one of the Lady Red Wolves Classic held Monday at Sage Meadows Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas. 

Belmont carded rounds of 308 and a season low 295 on Monday to finish the day tied for seventh place with Little Rock at 603.  Host Arkansas State has the team lead at 578, while Southern Illinois is second at 590.

Two Bruins are among the top-10 after 36 holes.  Juniors Katelyn Dunstan and Cameron Fish are tied for ninth place at 146.  Dunstan, an Arkansas native, carded rounds of 74 and 72 on Monday, while Fish posted rounds of 76 and 70.  They are six shots behind the individual leader, Emily Keeling of Lipscomb (140).

Other Belmont scores from day one included: junior Julia Nittoli (T-36, 157), senior Carlee Nanney (T-40, 160), and junior Maribeth Peevy (T-40, 160).

Freshman Lily Gulley is competing as an individual and is tied for 49th at 166.

The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning with an 8:00am shotgun start.
