BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Sophomore women's golfer Katelyn Dunstan has been named OVC Golfer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Dunstan returned to her home state and tied for fourth out of 56 competitors at the Lady Red Wolves Classic hosted by Arkansas State at the Sage Meadows Golf Club in Jonesboro. She carded rounds of 74-72-71 to finish at 217 (+1) which was six shots behind the medalist. Her final round 71 was her low round of the season and her fourth place finish was a career-best. The Little Rock native currently ranks sixth in the OVC in stroke average (75.6).
This marks the first time that Katelyn has earned weekly honors from the OVC. She is the second Belmont golfer this fall to garner this award, joining senior Julia Nittoli, who was honored on September 18.
The women's golf team takes a couple weeks off before returning to the course on October 28-29 at the Town and Country Invitational hosted by Tennessee State at Nashville's McCabe Golf Course.
