NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team wraps up their fall season this Monday and Tuesday as they compete in the Town and Country Invitational hosted by Tennessee State at Nashville's McCabe Golf Course.
The Bruins are coming off a fifth place showing at the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Arkansas two weeks ago. In that event, the squad shot their best round of the season (295 in both round two and three) and saw two golfers finish among the top-10: Katelyn Dunstan in fourth and Cameron Fish in 10th). For her efforts, Dunstan was named OVC Golfer of the Week.
Dunstan currently leads the team in scoring with a 75.6 stroke average. She has posted two top-10 finishes in three events this fall and is currently tied for fourth in the OVC in scoring.
This week's Town and Country Invitational is a two-day, 36-hole event. It will be played at Nashville's McCabe Golf Course on its Middle and South layouts which will play to a par-70 and a length of 5,814 yards.
The field features eight teams: Austin Peay, Belmont, Cumberland, Lipscomb, Morehead State, host Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and Troy.
The format for the tournament will be a unique one as all five starting golfers for each team will play together in one grouping.
First round play will begin Monday morning at 8:30am with individuals. Belmont's group of five golfers will tee off at 11:00am. Live scoring for the event can be found at BelmontBruins.com or Golfstat.com.
