NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University Softball will see action on a trio of weekends this fall, giving fans an early look at the 2019 Bruins roster.
The Bruins open fall play on Saturday, September 22 at E.S. Rose Park, welcoming in Volunteer State for a doubleheader beginning at Noon. Two weeks later on October 6, BU makes the short trip down the boulevard to play at Lipscomb's Draper Diamond. Belmont takes on host-Lipscomb at 10 a.m. before facing off against Lee University at 3 p.m. BU wraps its fall slate of action back at home at Rose Park, hosting Motlow State for a doubleheader on October 13. First pitch is slated for Noon.
The 2018-19 roster is helmed by six seniors: Hayley Baker (Rockwall, Texas), Baylee Cook (Lewisburg, Tenn.), Taylor Hargrove (Greenbrier, Tenn.), Sami Long (Springfield, Ill.), Cam Strother (Chesapeake, Va.), and Chelsea Thomas (Hot Springs, Ark.). Overall, the team returns 13 players from one year ago while welcoming six new faces to the roster, including junior college transfers Brittany Kennett (Melbourne, Australia) and Autumn McDanel (Moravia, Iowa) plus freshmen Molly Dietz (Lindenhurst, Ill.), Audrey Lyle (Westlake, Ohio), Taylor Marciniak (Chesapeake, Va.), and Jessica Parente (Verona, Wisc.).
