NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University Softball opens its final road swing of the regular season with a non-conference duel with nationally ranked Alabama on Tuesday evening. The Bruins (26-18, 8-8 OVC) travel to Cullman, Ala., for neutral site game versus No. 7 Crimson Tide (45-4, 14-4 SEC).

UA is led at the plate by Kaylee Tow and Bailey Hemphill, who are both batting .358. Tow has recorded 44 hits with 10 doubles, one triple, seven homeruns and 48 RBI while Hemphill has tallied 49 hits, seven doubles, 20 homeruns and 64 RBI. Montana Fouts leads the pitching corps with a paltry 0.97 ERA after 101.0 innings thrown with 125 strikeouts to the tune of a 13-1 record. Sarah Cornell has a 1.81 ERA after 96.2 innings tossed with 71 batters fanned for an 18-1 record with eight complete games.

BU stands at 26-18 overall and 8-8 in OVC games after falling in a midweek tilt to in-state rival Chattanooga. Belmont has a whopping nine players batting over .300, led by senior Baylee Cook (Lewisburg, Tenn.), the reigning Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week, who is batting .380 with 54 hits, seven doubles, a pair of triples, four homeruns and 32 RBI. Classmate Hayley Baker (Rockwall, Texas) follows, batting .358 with 48 hits, 13 doubles, six homeruns and 40 RBI. Senior Taylor Hargrove (Greenbrier, Tenn.) rounds out the team's hottest bats, hitting .355 with 11 hits, including one triple.

Inside the circle, the Bruin pitching corps is led by junior Brooklin Lee (Burns, Tenn.) and sophomore Alicia Veltri (Clarksville, Tenn.). Lee sports a 2.29 ERA after fanning 116 batters with four shutouts and a save for an 11-7 record. Veltri has 14 complete games under her belt with 124 strikeouts recorded over 125.2 innings tossed for a 12-8 mark with a 2.56 ERA.

Tuesday's matchup against Alabama begins at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park in Cullman, Ala. Live stats will be available and the contest will have a Crimson Tide audiocast as well.
