Fall Ball Schedule for Softball Released

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Softball has a busy Fall Ball schedule ahead, beginning this weekend, giving fans an early look at the 2020 Bruin roster in action under the watchful eye of first year head coach Megan Smith.

BU opens fall play on Saturday, September 14 with a pair of games at Ridley Park in Columbia, Tenn. The Bruins take on Columbia State at 1 p.m. before facing off against Snead State at 3 p.m.

The following week, Belmont plays its first Fall Ball matchup at E.S. Rose Park, hosting Trevecca at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 27. The next day, the Bruins head down the Boulevard for a pair of contests at Lipscomb's Draper Diamond. BU takes on Freed Hardeman at 11 a.m., followed by the Bisons at 4 p.m.

The Bruins open the month of October back at Draper Diamond on Sunday, October 6, taking on the University of Tennessee at 3:30 p.m.

BU concludes the fall season back at Rose Park, hosting Motlow State on Saturday, October 19.

The 2020 roster is led by a trio of seniors: Brooklin Lee (Burns, Tenn.), Brittany Kennett (Melbourne, Australia), and Bailey Sims (Flowery Branch, Ga.). Overall, the team returns seven players who saw action one year ago while adding seven new faces to the roster, including redshirted freshmen Taylor Marciniak (Chesapeake, Va.) and Molly (Dietz) Porter (Lindenhurst, Ill.) plus five true rookies in Kailey Brown (San Antonio, Texas), Kristen Green (Buchanan, Ga.), Abi Ledbetter (Livingston, Tenn.), MyKayla Spurlin (Madisonville, Ky.), and Lauren Veltri (Clarksville, Tenn.).
