Ashley Thomas begins her first season as an assistant coach for the Belmont softball program.
Thomas comes to Belmont with some impressive credentials. She was a four-year letterwinner at Georgia Tech. Playing shortstop, she was the ACC player of the Year in 2013 and earned All-ACC honors twice. She led the Yellow Jackets in batting average, hits, and runs during her junior and senior seasons.
"I am so excited to add Ashley Thomas to the softball staff," Head Coach Brian Levin said. "Ashley has played under me with the Akron Racers for the past three years and she is a consummate professional. She is a fierce competitor. Ashley has played at the highest level collegiately attaining incredible success being named the ACC Player of the Year. She also was a volunteer on the Georgia Tech staff, so she has been exposed to the rigors of college coaching.
"Belmont is extremely fortunate to get such a talent and I know Ashley is fired up to get on campus and get started."
After her collegiate career, Ashley has spent the last three years playing for the Akron Racers in the National Pro Fastpitch League. She has played in 147 games during that time and earned All-NPF honors in 2014.
Ashley resides in Nashville.
