NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Belmont women's tennis team will continue their fall season with the Murray State University Fall Classic this weekend.
The team will face two teams that they will play in the spring season, Murray State and North Alabama, along with Cumberland University over two days of competition.
First round singles and doubles action start on Friday afternoon. Singles will be the best of three sets with the third set being a 10-point tie-breaker, while doubles play will include one regular set to six. The second and third rounds of the tournament will be held on Saturday.
Doubles pairings include sophomores Terra Sheldon and Maria Plaksina, freshman Peyton Lee and sophomore Drew Hawkins, sophomore Erin Allen and freshman Lauren Carelli and senior Mical Johnson and sophomore Sarah Brackin. All nine players will play in singles.
The tournament which begins at 1:00 p.m. Friday and will be held at the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts on the Murray State campus.
